Report on Workshop: Learning NotebookLM
A workshop was conducted on 02.5.26 by Ms. Jaya Anand for grade VI to VIII to introduce educators
to the effective use of NotebookLM, an AI-based tool developed by Google. The session focused on
enhancing teaching practices by demonstrating how digital tools can simplify resource creation and
support meaningful learning.
During the workshop, participants explored how NotebookLM can assist in creating a variety of
teaching and learning materials. Teachers learned to generate flashcards for quick revision, quizzes for
assessment, and mind maps for better conceptual clarity. The tool also demonstrated its capability to
create multimedia resources such as videos, audio summaries, slides, and infographics, making
lessons more engaging and interactive.
An important practical component of the workshop was preparing content for upload. Participants
were introduced to the use of online PDF tools such as ILovePDF to split large PDF books into
smaller, manageable sections. This step made it easier to upload specific chapters or topics into
NotebookLM, ensuring focused and efficient content analysis.
The workshop empowered educators to create dynamic, student-friendly resources and encouraged
the adoption of innovative and efficient teaching strategies.
